FAQ

1. Why should app developers collect first-party data?

First-party data is a central part of an app’s business, helping with strategic decision-making, optimizing user-experience, and driving business growth.

If done right, first-party data can be much more reliable and accurate than third-party data. When collected securely and directly by app developers themselves, first-party data reduces the risk of data discrepancies and inaccuracies that can occur when leveraging data from intermediaries. By being in control of their own data, app developers can future-proof their most valuable resource and build more profitable businesses.

First-party data serves as the foundational fuel for the effective use of AI and automation systems. Only by using high-quality data can you train AI models effectively, leading to better performance and results. High-quality data also enables AI to create highly personalized experiences, allows for more precise user interaction predictions, and supports adaptive and intelligent automation.

With increasing regulations and changes to data privacy practices (such as GDPR and CCPA), relying on external intermediaries for data collection is becoming riskier. Enabling first-party data collection by app developers themselves helps mitigate these risks and remain compliant with privacy laws, while also generating better insights for their business.

2. Why should app developers verify their first-party data collection?

Currently, most app developers rely on intermediaries such as MMPs to collect app engagement data on their behalf, leaving app developers exposed to unnecessary risks, growing costs, and data-quality issues.

Malicious actors in the mobile ecosystem have been manipulating data for in-app, ad, and performance measurement for a long time, yet intermediaries are unable to recognize and defend against most forms of attacks.

We empower app developers to collect and secure their first-party data themselves with our security solution.

Collecting first-party data secured and verified by KAZIMI allows app developers to understand and mitigate risks to their operations, while developing better and more accurate insights.

Heightened data quality not only helps app developers benchmark the accuracy of their intermediaries; the added insights gained by working with KAZIMI provide a host of other benefits - app developers can optimize their campaigns, improve their live ops, and lower costs by not serving malicious bots.

3. Does integrating KAZIMI require any special app permissions?

No.

KAZIMI does not require any special app permissions.

4. Can I use KAZIMI with my MMP?

Yes.

KAZIMI’s security solution will work seamlessly next to any other integrations running in your app. KAZIMI can also provide a custom parameter to your MMP’s data collection, which can be used for data quality validation and/or custom attribution rules, effectively expanding the KAZIMI security stack to the MMP you are currently partnering with.

5. Do I need an MMP if I use KAZIMI?

The answer depends on what you use your MMP for. KAZIMI does not ingest ad-engagement data and thus KAZIMI cannot offer attribution services that attribute your users’ in-app engagement to an ad engagement.

However, KAZIMI can and will enable you to collect the data of your app’s sessions (and therefore installs) with the highest level of security and accuracy. Your data will be free of bots, malicious data injection and any other forms of manipulation, allowing you to benchmark your MMP’s data quality and develop superior insights that will help you optimize your operations.

6. Does integrating KAZIMI in an app jeopardize the effectiveness of any third party integrations or vice versa?

No.

KAZIMI is built to work regardless of an app developer’s other partners and works seamlessly with any other technical integrations.

7. What kind of insights about their users can app developers access with Kazimi?

KAZIMI assesses the execution environment of your app and checks for human interaction when an app signal is sent to your server for data collection. As such you will be able to tell human users from bots and also receive deep insights into the quality of the interaction.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • If a human interaction was the origin of the data you are collecting

  • If your app was tempered with in any way

  • If the client device was emulated/simulated

  • If the there was any signs of in-runtime tempering with your apps execution

8. What other positive outcomes can I expect when using KAZIMI?

KAZIMI’s technology will help you cut waste from your business operations. For instance, you can decide at your data entry point if you want to ingest, process, store and reply to incoming data, reducing IOPS, storage and processing costs for malicious or useless bot requests and requests from tempered versions of your app. You will be able to create a benchmark for your intermediaries and analytics partners according to your new insights derived from collecting your own first-party data.

For example you will now be able to measure how many installs and sessions your mobile analytics vendor reports as clean are actually coming from bots. You will also find the opposite in cases where your mobile analytics vendor has marked an in-app engagement as malicious when, in fact, it was not. You will also be able to recognize which ROI positive, paid installs are actually bots, helping you assess which ad monetization platforms actually drive value to your business.

9. Why KAZIMI?

Our team is made up of industry veterans across mobile measurement and cybersecurity who are bringing their expertise and experience to KAZIMI. We have built cutting-edge security and anti-fraud solutions for some of the biggest names in the mobile ecosystem from mobile ad networks to MMPs and are now offering a new service to tackle the most important challenge app developers face today - securing their first party data and developing the highest quality data possible for their operations and the age of AI.

Many players in the mobile ecosystem will tell you accuracy and measurement are not possible - our verification service is designed to prove them wrong and enable app developers to gain unprecedented insight by securing their own data and protecting their operations both from bots and exploding costs.

We believe the most reliable data to power your app is your own - that’s why we founded KAZIMI.
